Questions
What to know about ScreenFolio before getting started.
- Which Macs does it run on?
- Macs with Apple Silicon running macOS 26 or later.
- Does it upload my screenshots?
- Reading, indexing and searching your screenshot library happen on your Mac. Read the privacy policy.
- What can Claude or Codex see?
- Only what they ask for while connected, after you approve the connection. What they read is then handled under that assistant’s own privacy policy. How connections work.
- Will it change my Photos library or files?
- Not on its own. It never moves, renames or edits your files. If you choose to delete a screenshot, it asks you to confirm first.
- How long does setup take?
- A few minutes to download the search models, then ScreenFolio reads your screenshots in the background. You can search while it works.
- What does it need access to?
- Photos library permission lets ScreenFolio read your iPhone and iPad screenshots from iCloud Photos. It only reads screenshots, not your other photos or videos. You can also give it access to folders you choose. When you take a screenshot in a web browser, macOS may also ask to let it note the page’s title and address.
- How do I delete its data?
- Choose Settings › Diagnostics › Delete All Data. That clears its search index and caches; your screenshots and Photos library aren’t touched.
